The Day I Stopped Rebooting Without Opening the Files

A transmission on betrayal, self-abandonment, and the moment truth finally anchors, by Annette Aviles© All Rights Reserved
There are days when something inside you shifts so profoundly that you know without doubt, without hesitation that you will never be the same again.
I’ve spoken about betrayal of self for years. I’ve coached people through it. I’ve explained it conceptually, mapped it, named it, held space for it. But today, something different happened. Today, the concept dropped out of my mind and anchored into my system.
I didn’t “understand” betrayal. I felt it. I saw it. I integrated it completely.
And I realized something I’ve been avoiding for a long time:
I have been trying to reboot my system without opening the files. Trying to move forward without looking at the very thing that had shaped me. Trying to evolve without acknowledging the parts of me I abandoned. Trying to heal without facing the truth that betrayal didn’t just happen to me, it happened within me. Because betrayal doesn’t sit in the past. It sits in the nervous system.
It becomes how you anticipate, how you protect, how you choose, how you fear, how you love, how you leave yourself behind. And no matter how many times someone says “that was years ago,” the body knows better.
The body remembers. The last betrayal, the one that finally broke me, wasn’t the worst one. It was simply the one that shattered the ceiling of denial. It was the moment I could no longer pretend that I was fine, that I was safe, that I was chosen, that I was valued, that I was living in truth.
It was the moment I stopped lying to myself. And that’s when the real journey began.
Not the journey of healing, the journey of returning.
Returning to the part of me I left behind. Returning to the innocence I thought was gone. Returning to the truth I had been running from. Returning to the version of me that refused to die, even when I abandoned her.
For a long time, I believed my biggest fear was being betrayed again. But today, I saw the deeper truth: My biggest fear was myself. The part of me that sabotaged. The part of me that pretended. The part of me that said “I’m fine” when I wasn’t.
The part of me that kept looping in the infinity symbol, repeating patterns, repeating choices, repeating pain, because I refused to stand still long enough to meet myself.
But here’s the revelation that came through me this morning: The infinity symbol is not the journey. It’s the loop. Two circles, endlessly crossing, endlessly repeating, endlessly pulling you back into the same story. But at the center of that symbol is a meeting point, a still point, a place where the past and future collapse into the present.
And that point is me.
When I stop looping, the symbol collapses into a single circle....Completion.
That’s what happened today.
I opened the files. I stopped running. I stopped pretending. I stopped abandoning myself. I stopped rebooting without truth. And I finally said: I have been there. And now I am here. This is not a lesson. This is not advice. This is not a teaching.
This is a moment of becoming, offered with sincere integrity, with love for myself, and with love for every other expression of me walking this human path. May it touch whoever needs it. May it remind you that betrayal is not the end, it is the doorway. And may it bring you back to the center of your own infinity.
